      @jeroen234:

      will it work to update the dev version from 0.96.2 to 1.0 beta 2 or higher ?

      Yes, but keep in mind you are not getting FreeBSD changes.

      @JanZ:

      Is there any way to update FreeBSD via CVS? I remember somebody saying that you have to put some dirs to rw mode…
      Any thoughts?
      /jan

      Nope.  We only commit pfSense related files and helpers.  The base FreeBSD files are not in cvs and therefore do not get sync'd.  And since we do not have a compiler the standard way of keeping FreeBSD up to date will not work either.  You are at the mercy of our update system.

        So, the only way is to download full install, install it and upload config file… Quite an issue, since I have all on VLANs and nothing on "physical" interface... is there a way to upload config from console via CD/DVD/floppy/USB key ? That would be quite usefull...

          Not uploading a config, but you can transfer a config to a msdos formatted removable device.

              update_file.sh /usr/local/sbin/cvs_sync.sh and run again.
