Tunneled traffic shaping?
-
Hi there. I think that based on other threads the answer is no but I am not sure that I took their context correctly so I am asking (again.)
Can pfsense prioritize traffic by type within an ipsec tunnel? For example if I have VOIP traffic and SMTP traffic within a tunnel is there any way to give VOIP traffic priority?
Thanks!!!

It looks like it is working. I have an IPSEC-Tunnel running from home to office with a VOIP-Phone at the office connected to my VOIP-Server at home. I just ran the trafficshaper wizard and assigned the Phone's IP at the VOIP Setting of the wizard and I see traffic hitting VoipUP and VoipDOWN. Additional to that I prioritized IPSEC traffic at the Other protocols screen. Just give it a try and let us know how it works for you.

Was that just running the wizard as normal? You didn't have to fiddle with the settings to get it to work? I.E. you have left the rules as lan -> wan? (and wan -> lan respectively)
Cheers!

I'm not too convonced that this is working under all conditions though the voip traffic shows up in the right queues at LAN and WAN. Need to do some more tests soon but yes, I only used the wizard along with local lan phones as VOIP-Alias.
