Finally we have taken charge the adaptation from the code to Fernando Lemos, of Netfiler.com.br so that Pfsense can be in Spanish, and in any other language.

Fernando will charge the 600 dollars that we offered for this work.

Thanks to other people that have contacted with me to make this work.

      CARLOS MESA

Please note that this situation has changed.

Freekazoide has done all the heavy hitting and implemented all the gettext() changes required.  He is now translating to Portugese.

With that said, we need volunteers for other languages.  Who wants to help??    Spanish and German are accounted for so far.

          Hi,

I can take charge of translating to the Spanish language. Where is the file in English for me to begin to translate to Spanish? I have time for me to be the official translator to Spanish.

              Ok,

I begin with the translation. In some days I will have the translation from this file to Spanish. When I finish, where do I send the file in Spanish?

                              Yes !  8)

in file messages.po contains only label of button ou text html, the value of form to be continue "yes", so, you translate only label or text html.

                                      @carlosmesa:

We would be willing to pay 100 dollars for you to introduce in "Settings" an option to place the GUI in Spanish.

It is easy. You only have to put variable that they take the data of a text file with the equivalent of assignment of variables in Spanish.

We would be willing to translate to the Spanish language all the new modifications of the text file with variables, with each new version.

It would be it something very interesting since the Spanish language is from all over the world the second more important language, after English. Pfsense would become a firewall with international entrance.

What do you say of this proposal?

                                      CARLOS MESA

there are lot more important things and fixes that should be implemented for pfSense rather than adding a language support which will not increase whether the functionaltiy nor usability in my opinion. It is a waste of time for these guys who are putting effort on this system.
                                      thanks

All of these people where not working on pfSense prior.  You act like that this task is taking away from the other developers who have been working on pfSense from day 1.  This is not the case.    So I humbly ask for you to either start helping out or zip it.

                                          When I'm translating in danish - there is Æ Ø and Å, - should i use Æ &Aslash; and Å or the default letters ?

Or is the interface in ISO-8859-1 charset?

If someone is willing to post a bounty for a feature, then I don't see why you have a right to claim that feature is useless just because it's of no use for you. For someone who doesn't understand English very well but understands Spanish well, having the webgui in Spanish is likely to vastly increase the usabiliy and functionality
