I have built several PF systems almost identical all with the same motherboards, just varying in RAM type and CPU speed.

I was wondering if anyone has seen a stock out of box pfsense system hover around 30-40% memory usage. It seems offly high to me. Is there any way I can check to see what is running in the background by chance what would be eating up so much memory?

How much ram do these machines have in the first place?

          How much swap if any?

And what are you using them for?  CARP and squid and and and, or just a simple box ?
