      Hi,

pfsense includes the 'moused' (daemon) included - but seems to have no mouse device drivers in its kernel.

'kldsstat -v' shows that both ums, psm and mse drivers are not included in the kernel - there seems to be no use of the moused if they are missing ?

I know that pfsense isn't meant to be a desktop system - but a little help from a console mouse is nice to have.

(apologies if I'm wrong here - I'm fairly new to freeBSD/pfsense)

      kind regards Uffe

The idea beind pfSense is to mainly use the webgui for all config tasks. The console only should be used for setting up basic connectivity ro to low level debug. Embedded builds even have keyboard and video completely removed for devices like the pc engines wrap that wouldn't boot with these enabled. Just for running the installer once in a lifetime of the platform doesn't justify mousesupport imo.

          Hi,

          Thanks for your reply.

I agree that all (most of) the opreations should be carried out from the webGUI. I was just wondering why/how the "moused" daemon ever made it into this distribution - without any drivers it is quite useless.

          Kind regards Uffe

Yeah, we might want to strip this down.
