What is strange about this situation is that there are no replies being registered.  Let me whip up another dhclient for you test.

        Run this from a shell:

        /etc/rc.conf_mount_rw
        fetch -o /sbin/dhclient http://www.pfsense.com/~sullrich/dhclient

Just out of curiosity, I rebooted my machine when I got home from work, and the DHCP client wont work. I chcked the interface settings, and it seems to look fine. There was nothing in the logs, but the Status:interfaces page said DHCP: Down. I clicked renew about 100 times, still no workie!!

                    shutdown -r now

                      Thanks,

Ya know, I should really know better than to check the permissions!! I am supposedly a RedHat Certified Technician, but I gues it still makes me a pfsense certified Newbie.

But since that other dhclient wasnt running until now, we cant be sure that the whole log problem is fixed. I will check back and post my results in an hour or so.

                      Thanks again!
