Bridge problem after update to RC2
-
Hi,
I have updated from RC1a to RC2 on an embedded systems (wrap)
The configuration included a brideg between LAN and WLAN (opt2). Following the update I got this message:
There were error(s) loading the rules: no IP address found for bridge0/tmp/rules.debug:255: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:256: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:257: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:258: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:267: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:268: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:269: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:270: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:279: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:280: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:281: could not parse host specification no IP address found for bridge0 /tmp/rules.debug:282: could not parse host specification pfctl: Syntax error in config file: pf rules not loaded - The line in question reads [255]: pass out quick on $WLAN proto udp from $WLAN to 209.88.179.6 port = 500 keep state label "IPSEC: Develogen Israel - outbound isakmp"..
If I disable the WLAN or assign a static IP, it goes away…
Is there any change in the bridge or VPN from RC1 to RC2?

Update to RC2a where this is fixed.
See http://pfsense.blogspot.com/2006/08/rc2-released.html for more information.

This was fixed already. We'll have RC2a soon available. Unfortunately this came in by fixing IPSEC on OPT interfaces.

I am having this problem too (bridge – RC2 -- IPSEC). Based on the information in this thread, I wanted to update my installation to RC2a. I am trying to do it via the shell in web client ...does not seem to work. These are my steps (in Firefox): went to Diagnostics >> Command. Entered "fetch -q -o - http://www.pfsense.com/~sullrich/update_to_rc2a.sh | sh -" in Execute Command Shell. Then hit Execute. After about 10seconds this line appears in the top and then nothing seems to happen.
Questions: (1) I waited for about a minute. Is that too short? (2) is this method of updating still working? I tried to go to http://www.pfsense.com/~sullrich and find the shell script. That seems to be under the old directory.
Thanks.

No, you should go directly to the latest of the snapshot builds now that you can find in the ~sullrich folder. In case you are on embedded you have to reflash as the RC2x-series builds didn't support the new update mechanism.
