Configuration for Using uTorrent (newb)
-
Hey.
Im sitting behind a pfSense firewall, and i want to download torrents using uTorrent.
I've been reading around on the forum, and tried out different things, but i just cant get my torrents to download.
When im looking at the uTorrent window, it shows 0(0) seeds and peers :STherefor i was wondering if anyone could tell me which rules i should, and should not set for making this work.
(Im new to pfSense)
Thanks in advance!

This is not a pfSense problem.
The swarm has no seeds
–> Noone has the complete copy of the file you want. -
Doubt it…
Just tried the same torrent on a different network, and it had over 2000 seeders... -
The easiest way is to enable UPNP support in pfSense (Services > UPNP, check enable, click LAN, click Change), and also in uTorrent.
A little harder, but possibly more secure in the long run, would be to manually forward a port to your uTorrent client PC, and make sure that uTorrent is listening on that port.

Usually you can get the status of the swarm even if you cannot connect to it. (you dont have 0/0 seeds).Do you have a restrictive firewallset?
Any entries in the firewall log?
