Scp doesn't working

I'm installed Pfsense on a Soekris net4801-50 system and I activated the SSH server, but when I try to copy a file from Pfsense with scp it doesn't work and I get this error:

protocol error: unexpected <newline>What's the problem?

Set the protocol to SFTP (allow SCP fallback).

Make sure you are using username root rather than admin.
