      Hello,

I'm running 1.0.1 on a Soekris box and under the status page there is an entry for processes which lists "nfsiod" as running. I understood that NFS and Firewalls were a bad mix. I know that nfsiod deals with a client process, but why have it at all on a firewall box?

        nfsiod?

Maybe I'm thinking too paranoid or have been reading up on the wrong stuff. Perhaps someone could tell me what services could or should be run on a firewall? In what scenario could I safely mount and use remote file sytems on a firewall. Would cifs be better than nfs?

          I'm now running this snaphot:

          FreeBSD 6.2-RELEASE #0: Thu Jan 25 16:36:19 EST 2007
              sullrich@builder6.pfsense.com:/usr/obj.pfSense/usr/src/sys/pfSense_wrap.6

and don't see nfsiod running anymore. Any comments to this or earlier posts would be appreciated.
Also another question - if I save my config, reflash should the RRD graphs be reinstalled with the original config when "All" is selected for the backup options?

many thanks for a great fw

RRD-Graphs are not stored in the config.xml so you'll lose this information on backup and not overwrite this information on restore.
