I'm having the same problem.  I uninstalled all of my packages and then reinstalled freeRadius and it still won't start.

                  1. Deinstall  package freeradius (System: Package Manager).
                  2. Install freeradius: pkg_add -r freeradius.
                  3. Install  package freeradius (System: Package Manager).

                        Hi Sir,
I got the problem as showning below. Do you have any idea?
My pfsense is installed freeradius  System  1.1.2_1 A free implementation of the RADIUS protocol.

                        radiusd -sxxxzy 2> /tmp/freeradius.log &

Sorry I got the way to solve it by myself:
                          1. Check the bin package is already removed by typing: it should not display nothing.

                          radiusd -sxxxyz

                          2. Reinstall the package again by using cmd line:

                          pkg_add -r freeradius

                          3. If every things was completed, try to restart it again:

                          radiusd -sxxxyz

                          THANK

This post is old, I think it has been fixed and broke again and fixed again since it started, but suffice it to say it should be updated and fixed now.  I have no problem installing it with the standard methods.

You need to be at the latest snapshot. The package system has been upgraded.

I also have the same problem on 1.0.1.  I am willing to install a newer snapshot if that is the solution.  This firewall is extreamly critical to my small wisp.  Can you recomend a snapshot that is both stable and would support freeradius?

In that case you should wait for the 1.2beta1 that will be available soon.
