Can I use this to do what a Alvaco OptiQroute will do?

I'm not scared of reading or learning or figuring things out, however I don't like to take a month to figure out that I can't do what I want to do, so I thought I'd throw this question out to the forum.
I found a product called a OptiQroute by a company called Alvaco I handles multiple lans just like fpSense does the things that it will do that I don't know if pfSense will to are…
1. Load Balance incoming traffic by using a system called hyperDNS, what hyperDNS does is actually gives out the address of your server depending on what connection it wants it to come in on.
2. Using another OptiQroute as a redundant load balancing system, so that if one goes down the other will take over.
3. Load balancing incoming connections between multiple servers, not only helping keep the WANs balanced but also keeping the servers balanced.I love the idea of being able to do these things but I'd much rather contribute to utility like pfSense and help others than buying something from another company at a fairly good price tag. But when it comes down to it it's better to have what I need and pay for it now that to waste time on something that won't do what I need it to do, so I guess my question is should I keep reading and start using pfSense or is there no way it will do what I need?

All these items are available or will be available shortly. We currently have gateway(outgoing) and server(incoming) loadbalancing including dead peer detection. When the next version 1.2 will be out there will be a DNS-Server package that has "hyperDNS"-like features (at least from what you describe). The package is almost done and is already used at production installs to test it.

That is very good news, I'm always much happier to use a software solution vs a hardware solution, mostly because I understand and can work with software, black boxes are not my favorite thing in the world ;o) Thank you for your response in that case I look very much forward to the next release and would be happy to help with any testing if it's needed. however I might need some hardware suggestions, I'll go start reading whatever post I can on the subject of hardware right now.

It mainly depends on throughput needs. Check the hardware section. You'll find some discussions there.

The OptiQroute looks like it is competing vs FatPipe and can do line bonding (vs round robin balancing). It also has some features like OSPF and such. The hyperDNS thing looks to be like FatPipe's smartDNS- you point your domain to the box and it runs a DNS server with a really small TTL. I haven't tried the new DNS server on PfSense yet, but I expect it to be more flexible and it's based on djbdns, arguably the most secure and efficient DNS server around.

That's not completely right, the pfSense package is using tinyDNS.
