Racoon: ERROR: not acceptable Identity Protection mode

Hi!,
  I'm receiving the following message when trying to connect an IPSEC VPN:

racoon: ERROR: not acceptable Identity Protection mode

I'm using pfsense 1.2.2. The VPN server on the other side is a Smoothwall Advanced Firewall.
We are not using certificates, just a "Pre-Shared Key"
I don't know if the "My Identifier" item has something to do with it….I have it blank...

any help would be appreciated.
