If anyone is interested, I have had success running pfSense 1.2-Beta 1 on a Dell 1?50 with both a Digium TE110P and Digium TE410P. ;D
It is serving a full T1 with ppp from the carrier as the WAN interface in pfSense.

I have made some changes to interfaces.inc, interface_wan.php and rc files for this to work.  rc changes so it will call a script to load kernel loadable modules.

Still to work on is the configuration of the channels from the gui, the interface status page (it works but values are not correct), Sagnoma cards (need to get one…), a way to configure the kernel loadable's from the gui and test on a Soekris 4801/5501.

If there is an interest, let me know and I will keep going!

      Kev

This comes up quite a bit, with people requesting it. Unfortunately, none of our current developers have access to the appropriate hardware and circuits to implement this functionality. If you can get it working well and fully implement the feature in both RELENG_1 and HEAD, I'm sure it would be accepted into the base system.

I can do all that for you.  If users/developers have idea's or request on the subject would they post here or is there a "wish list"/bounty somewhere I can view?

I am interested if this can be maintained easily (READ: I don't  have to do ongoing maintenance beyond recompiling the module.)

Can you show the changes that you made?  Perhaps a diff -rub patchset.

This came up recently on the NYC*BUG mailing list, actually the day after this thread was initially posted.

Max Stucchi (FreeSBIE project, Italian FreeBSD users group, like me not in NYC but hangs out on their mailing list) is hosting a Sangoma developer at his VoIP talk at BSDCan. We may be able to get a T1 card from Sangoma, which I could use looped back to a Cisco router to test T1 functionality. It's supposedly easy to implement, if we have the hardware to support it, or someone else wants to completely write the support, it shouldn't be a problem to maintain it.

Scott - I committed us to at least talk to the Sangoma guy on what we can do to get support for their cards in pfsense. They may be able to get me a card, I already have the Cisco equipment for the other end of the T1 so we wouldn't need two cards.

adamsks: if you finish up support for the Digium cards, in a couple weeks we may be able to get our hands on a Sangoma card and I should be able to help you test this and implement Sangoma support.

I have a Sangoma T1 card here.  Let's get my cisco setup to do this test.

                  All,
                  Thanks for your responses.

                  Scott,
Where would you like me to place the diff -rub (email, here, ?)

I have a system that you can you look at the running GUI or SSH into it to look around, if you like.  I am still coming up with ideas from reviewing your code for doing certain things so don't be too surprised if it is not working or just not thrilling.

Right now it just gets the drivers loaded, the card configured and the IP stack running.  GUI is being worked on along with detection of the card for proper GUI page execution.

And YES I am drinking lots of Excellent beer like the developers kit suggests. ;D

                  Kev

I have a Soekris 4801 with the Sangoma T1 card that I am trying to get to work with our T1.  Can I download the image for this?

Email me the diff to sullrich@gmail.com in diff -rub format.

Good to hear about the beer.

Any news on this?  I think T1 support would be a significant addition to the features of PFSense.
