    Hello,
I attempted a developers ed install and it took something like 5 hours to install.  I rebooted the machine and it started checking and updating again.  After about 90 minutes I aborted and put the Live CD ver back on. **Here's my question:

If you "tough out"  the Dev. install, does it get to where it boots up in a "reasonable" amount of time if you reboot it or shutdown?**
Awesome bit of Software by the way, you guys should be justifiably proud of your work here.

    Thanx!
    Les

The developers edition will perform a checkout of the most recent pfsense files and create a local cvs copy on the first bootup. This can take some time when run for the first time. It will only check for differences when it's run the next time.

I have a 2 Gig Celeron and a 4 mbps connect.  The reason I ask this is that the second time I booted it I scapped it after 90 minutes of checks.  The connection seems throttles or bottlenecked at the server, in addition to the vast amount of checks.

I guess my real question is, somebody give me an idea of how long thier's takes to reboot?

I only have my brief experience to compare to, and I was in a hurry to get my network back online.

Is it 5 min, 10 min , 15 min, 30 min, or more.  I just don't know what to expect.

                  Hi,
I was kinda coming to the same conclusion, tht I would need a development box to play around with, and not use it for my network access.
