    I am up waaaay too late right now and that might be my problem, but I'm having no luck getting the opt1 (wifi via external WRT54G) onto the internet or heck, even able to see the router.

    In monowall all I had to do was put in the IP address and leave it at that. Am I missing something?

    Basic current config. … WAN --> Cable modem....
                                      LAN -->switch uplink
                                      Opt1 --> WRT54G switch(NOT WAN)

    I have created a firewall rule that allows full access accept to the Lan port... so it reads... "! LAN net" in the firewall rules for Opt1.

    Thanks in advance.

      After a good night sleep you should change your rules on opt1 to

      any opt1 net any any any any any any any any any any any any any any any any

      ;D

      BTW if there is a flash expert reading this, can't you make a flow of traffic flash!!!

        Thanks for the info.

        I have it set that way now… basically allowing everything. How do I keep the WiFi rats off my lan though? Also, if i need to create another rule to block LAN access... what order does it need to be in? After the Allow all rule? And why wouldn't a rule that says you can access everything but LAN work? thats what I had in monowall and it worked great.

          totally weird. The OPT1 interface is working now w/ "destination NOT LAN subnet" but it wasnt before. Oh well, it was late.

          If anyone reads this that can answer, thanks…. Running a traffic shaper on my wifi network to keep things flowing on the lan side... what kind of system do I need? Currently I'm running 256ram and 500mhz celeron. I think it can be upgraded to a 700 pentium 2? or 3? not sure what socket it is. Any help?

            Unless you have a really, really fast Internet connection, the 500 MHz Celeron will be adequate.

                ;D  I should have quantified that.  By "really, really fast" I mean 50+ Mb.
