SquidGuard Test Package

Anybody can show me how to configure squidguard. I setup squidguard but it always prompt username & password?

How you install and where prompt password ? More info?

I extract xmlrpc.tgz to '/usr/local/www/pfSense' then I put 'pkg_config.xml' to '/usr/local/www/packages' then modify xmlrpcbaseurl" = my ip address. Installation looks Ok but when I test on client side always promt username & password window.

May be problem with squid auth?
Or in SG configuretion present redirection to site with auth?
SG not use auth as application

:-[ Temorary nothing exists.
I write small instructions:

By default SG generate small config with 'allow all' access.Config and logs You can looking on Log page
page Destinations
contain items with filteres by domains/urls/expressions This items used on Acl page for allo or deny access to item resources
page Sources
In this page you can add Sources groups, if you need define separate users self Access rules. (On ACL page)
In simple you can use only Defaul page rules for all users
Times page
You can define time groups for use in ACL and Default page rules
Rewrites
Contains urls or expressions for replace. For example you can replace exe or jpg files to you self (if user downloaded - him get 'you file' in lieu thereof downloaded)
But for begginer not reccomended use this page - expressions difficult for understanding by fly
Default
Default rule for all what not defined in ACL page
You can use times - in this case need setup rules in right column for overtime
Left column use in all events and with time mean ontime rules
– Redirect field (and overtime redirect too)
contain URL given user in lieu thereof blocked url's
this field can be blank (user will get(receive) NotFound page) or contain 403, 404, 410 HTTP error codes or you self error page url (this can be url on different www server)
-ACL - access contact list
contains rules with
source (you user group items from Sources page)
time group
destinations groups
redirect and rewrite settings
General settings
contains blacklist options (you can upload fule from url)
if blacklist activated and uploaded - they appear in Destinations columns on Default and ACL pages

At the end You must press Apply button for reconfigure squidGuard & squid

Had to the problem of squidGuard not to restart, desistalei and I installed. to put this being occurred the following error in the installation and being aborted

Try pls now

ps check with pkg_info port db3-3.3.11_3,1 before installation SG
if need - install pls him as 'pkg_add -r http://ftp.lv.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/ports/packages/All/db3-3.3.11_3,1.tbz'

now i search for good hosting for sources >:(

I obtained to install apos re-instalacao of db3-3.3.11_3,1, to put exactly thus squidGuard nao I restart, when I only added manually in squid.conf the rules in squid.conf the same functioned.

No redirector configured

redirect_program /usr/local/bin/squidGuard -c /usr/local/etc/squidGuard/squidGuard.conf
redirect_children 8
redirector_bypass on

To put when restarting the pfsense the same is lost, the fact that has that to be enclosed in squid.inc, but I believe that must be made in the installation of the package squidGuard. it will be that it is an error?

squid.conf must updated avtomaticly after installation squidGuard and after pressing Apply button on SG gui.
If squid config changed (from squid gui) need press Apply button on SG gui for new update squid.conf with SG strings.

squid.conf should not change when the rebooting pfSense, but i want check this situation once more with clean system pfSense

Friends, when I qualify the transparent option of proxy, squidguard generates this error when some blockade of pagina or words exists. To put to not using transparent option of proxy functions legal, alguem knows to explain.
