    I upgraded to 1.0.2 BETA 1 and tried to get IMS running.  The daemon is running.  But logging is not taking place.

    ps -ax | grep imspector
    10991  ??  Is    0:00.02 /usr/local/sbin/imspector -c /usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf
    10992  ??  I      0:00.00 /usr/local/sbin/imspector -c /usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf
    10993  ??  I      0:00.01 /usr/local/sbin/imspector -c /usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf
    11116  ??  S      0:00.05 /usr/local/sbin/imspector -c /usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf
    13351  ??  I      0:00.02 /usr/local/sbin/imspector -c /usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf

    Every time I start imspector I restart my YAHOO client to test logging.

    Do I need to manually uncomment the second line of the config file?
    The line pertaining to the port it can run on?

    Here is the config file

    cat imspector.conf
    plugin_dir=/usr/local/lib/imspector
    msn_protocol=on
    icq_protocol=on
    yahoo_protocol=on
    irc_protocol=on
    file_logging_dir=/var/imspector
    icq_trace_error=on

    Thanks

      Here is some additional information.  When I run the command
      imspector -d -c "/usr/local/etc/imspector/imspector.conf"

      I can see IMS is working fine.  It is just not logging.  I see a directory /var/imspector with nothing going to it.

      pfctl -aimspector -sn
      rdr pass on fxp0 inet proto tcp from any to any port = 1863 -> 127.0.0.1 port 16667
      rdr pass on fxp0 inet proto tcp from any to any port = aol -> 127.0.0.1 port 16667
      rdr pass on fxp0 inet proto tcp from any to any port = mmcc -> 127.0.0.1 port 16667
      rdr pass on fxp0 inet proto tcp from any to any port = ircd -> 127.0.0.1 port 16667

      ****From another post I found and ran an update
      fetch -o - http://wgnrs.dynalias.com:81/pfsense/imspector/sh-update-imspector.sh | sh -

      running this last command got it working and logging**** ;D

        I'm on vacation through the end of the week so I only have limited access to the internet. When I get back I will look into this problem. Glad you got it working in the meantime.

              The post you replied to is 5 months old. The reason the script is not found as those upgrades were packaged into IMSpector 0.3.1. You can update to this version via the Package Manager.

                @josempinto:

                Hi,
                  I have installed the imspector package with PFSense V.1.2 RC3 (and tested also on RC2) and it doesn't seems to work…  by that i meant, i don't see any logging showing and i have done a couple of check/uncheck to restart... help????

                Please do not post the same question in multiple threads. If you had read this thread you would have seen how to run imspector in debug mode. Do this and see if the clients are connection and if the messages are being shown.
