Rc2 failed on me 2x
-
since update to rc2 I have had two locks up with no data passing. On screen I see it yelling about vr0: watch dog timer has timed out.
Any ideas?

Replace vr0 with a a good nic. Intel or 3com. Upgrade your bios.
-
can someone explain in which situations this may happens ??? ???

This is a Via board with two on board nic's. I am only having these lock ups since installing rc2. All the other beta's did not give me this problem. I still get these lock up's seems to be every week. I reverted to beta3 to see if I still get a lockup.

There probably weren't enough base OS changes between beta 3 and now to cause any changes. But do report back if that seems to be the case.
-
There have been no changes that would cause these types of issues since b3.
-
There have been changes in FreeBSD RELENG_6_2 in that time, so theoretically it could be an OS change that causes it. Given the scope and breadth of RELENG_6_2 changes in that time frame, it's unlikely.

No lock up yet on beta3. I have another of these same via boards, I'm going to swap it with my current one now on beta3. I will take the other home install rc2 and see if it also has a lock up. Both of these boards have ALWAYS reported Rx packetloss, FIFO overflow, and receive error (0405) overflow. The console is full of it and I've just had logging off. One of them has been fine doing 20megs for a few months even with these errors.
I think its time I ditched this hardware.
