It works for many others just fine.  We have no idea what is causing the issues unfortunately.

I have posted links to the mpd logs I recovered for what seems to be the same problem:

            http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,5151.0.html

The last snapshot I have that works with my PPPoE connection is 1.0.1-SNAPSHOT-03-15-2007.

              Hi,

Is there any update on this issue? I am having the same problem with 1.2 RC2.

Tried update from 1.0.1, fresh 1.2 RC2 install, none worked.

              Best Regards,
              Tiago Baptista

                Hi,

Today I also tried Monowall 1.3b4 and had the same problem.

                  Hello,

I am using now pfsense 1.2 RC2 and I have a regular PPPoE disconnect problem, around every 2 hours

With m0n0wall 1.2 I do not see these disconnects.

My ISP does not have only one DNS, but I have enabled now static DNS and it seems to be stable this morning, no disconnects yet.

My PPPoE modem is a Speedtouch 516 v6 in bridge mode and I'll have to check if the DHCP server is disabled on it just to be on the safe side.

I have seen my problems described here:

                  http://forum.m0n0.ch/index.php/topic,1130.msg3712.html#msg3712

                  Regards,
                  Adrian B.

Did anybody try the new pfsense 1.2 RC3 update with PPPoE?

                    http://snapshots.pfsense.org/FreeBSD6/RELENG_1_2/updates/pfSense-Full-Update-1.2-RC3.tgz

I see it is only on the snapshots site, not on the mirrors.

                    Regards,
                    Adrian B.

It's not the final RC3 yet but it already has the name. Once we release it as official RC3 we'll announce it and make it available on the mirrors as well. Feel free to test and report though.

This morning my pfsense 1.2 RC2 will not connect anymore on PPPoE.
Yesterday it worked, but now it does not.
My Speedtouch 516 v6 modem in bridge mode has the local DHCP turned off

I had to go back to m0n0wall 1.2.

                        Regards,
                        Adrian B.

Impossible for us to help without posting system logs.
