How do i see/set the time?
-
i noticed that the time on my pfSense is off by two hours. So:
a) How do i see the system's current time (and if i can't, add it to the System -> Status page)
b) How do i set the system's current time?
c) How do i configure how often the NTP daemon will synchronize the time?
d) How do i force the NTP daemon to synchronize the time? -
a) Point your web browser at the pfSense host
b) Use NTP
c) Chose an NTP server under System->General Setup
d) Not sure - see the OpenNTPd documentation -
@Cry:

d) Not sure - see the OpenNTPd documentationa) and then to what page?
b) i meant manually
c) and then?
d) It's okay to say, "You can't."It's okay to say that a feature doesn't exist in pfSense. Just because a feature exists in small consumer level routers, doesn't mean it would exist in high-end routers like pfSense. And i will continue to assume that features do exist until told that they do not.

a) The front page has the time/date at the point the page was displayed.
b) You can do it from the command line, but not via the GUI
c) Nothing, that's all
d) The whole point of NTP is that you don't "force" it to sync the time - it does that automatically -
a) How do i see the system's current time
b) How do i set the system's current time?Goto the pfSense webGUI and have a look at: Diagnostics | Command
Enter 'date' in the 'Execute Shell command"' field

d) How do i force the NTP daemon to synchronize the time?In the 'FreeBSD Hypertext Man Pages' you can search for 'ntpd' and see how that's working.

What are you complaining about?
If a command from the underlaying OS isn't accessible from the webGUI then start your compiler and implement it yourself. pfSense is free software and you have access to the sources.
And the system clock is part of your computer's BIOS - not the application it's running. -
