      Hi,

I just setup a nice pfSense router here at work for our 2 dsl lines. Everything is working like a charm and the internet is even faster then it was before.

There is one problem though and that is syslogd, its eating up around 80% - 90% of my CPU.
I did a search and found this tread http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,4094.0.html
I did click on the "Simply click save in the system logging settings tab" that was mentioned but that didn't help at all. Sometimes its so bad that I can't even login useing the gui or ssh.

      I'm running pfSense-1.2-RC3-Embedded on a FX5620.

Right now I can't give you more info because I can't even ssh into the box.

Does any one have any idea what I can do to fix this problem
      Thanks
      hamba

I'll keep an eye out for if it will return

I had the same problem and I killed the syslog and then restarted it in the shell.

It as running around 95% CPU for almost a day.

          Marcel
