Upgrade from 1.2RC3 to 1.2RC4
-
Hi All,
I saw from distrowatch.com that there is a new pfSense release so I decided to upgrade my 1.2RC3 hard drive install but before I get my hands wet, I want to ask your expert opinion first. :)
Browsing through the upgrade threads most of the issues/questions pertains to embedded version. I also read this -> http://blog.pfsense.org/?p=149 . I want to try both the webgui and console upgrades however when I try to download the new version, all I can see are the iso's , is this what I need to install? The instructions were to use the file with *.tgz extension but the download mirrors doesn't have this.
TIA

#1. Embedded upgrades are still not considered a supported item
#2. Use the embedded updates located on the snapshot server @ http://snapshots.pfsense.com/FreeBSD6/RELENG_1_2/updates/pfSense-Embedded-Update-1.2-RC4.tgz -
Hi Scott,
I use this http://snapshots.pfsense.com/FreeBSD6/RELENG_1_2/updates/pfSense-Full-Update-1.2-RC4.tgz instead of the Embedded-Update to update my box via console, coz I think you misunderstood my setup ( hard drive install ) or I am wrong? Anyways it's now working. Thanks very much. :)
