After put PFsense in my LAN all connectiviy to internet very slow

Last week i setup PFsense at my home, i make it as a server. after that i put PFsense server in my LAN and then i test speed to internet from my computer. I look all connection to internet very slow. At my home, I use broadband speed 1 mbps. I use PFsense 1.2 Beta
CPU : AMD 1333
RAM : 512 mb
Harddrive : 40GB
So, I hope you all can give some solution for solve this problem? -
Can you define "very slow" - figures of before and after. Details of the load on your pfSense box, what NICs you're using?

before this connectivity to internet no problem from the aspect download and watch youtube. After i put PFsense between ADSL Modem and Switch, all connectivity to internet very slow.
for interface WAN, i using SMC NICs 10/100
for interface LAN, i using Dlink NICs 10/100

yess pfSense-1.2-BETA.
yesterday i upgrade PFsense using pfSense-Full-Update-1.2-RC4.tgz firmware. but its still slow.

I have same problem
but my problem was telindus anex B ADSL modem and when I change him with SpeedTuch modem everything work perfectly
