On the forum it has been mentioned many times that the 1.2RC versions have more patches and are considered more stable than the previous full realease version.

The PFSense blog states that 1.2 will be released very soon.

So I should use rc4 or rc5 because the rc5 is also available. But the announcement says rc4 is the last release candidate for 1.2

                unofficial.
So I should remain to rc4. Its the first time I am using it so I can't take risks.

No avail. I used the rc4 once it passed the WAN stage but after installing it to disk it only got random numbers (infact errors)on my screen. Then I again boot the system from live cd and it hanging again now even once it hang on LAN interface.

                        Heiko

The rc4 was even hanging so I installed the developer version
                        http://snapshots.pfsense.com/FreeBSD6/RELENG_1_2/iso/pfSense-1.2-RC4-Develops-LiveCD.iso

                        and its working fine.

Now I want to knw whats the difference b/w standard and developer editon.
And How do I upgrade to standard rc5 installation, Is it possible?
