    i followed advice from http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,1384.0.html and progressivly increased bandwidth from 5% to 10% to 15%, now up to 20%, but i'm still getting drops. is that normal? :-
    should i also adjust 'Service Curve' 'Real Time' value?

      Keep increasing the bandwidth until you find a sweet spot.  Don't mess with SC values.

        Another thing to try is to lower your overall downstream of the parentqueue at LAN a bit. Maybe you forgot to subtract some overhead for the pppoe encapsulation in case your wan is pppoe or your provider gives you slightly less bandwidth than he advertizes.

          we are buying 3mbit symetrical link.(no pppoe)

          i just did a speedtest from www.testmy.net and i got
          Download :: 2914 Kbps or 2.91 Mbps (356 kB/s)
          Upload :: 2820 Kbps or 2.82 Mbps (344 kB/s)
          so during a working day with users on the line i'd say we are getting pretty close to the actual number.

          qWanRoot and qLanRoot are set to "3000 Kb"
          would lowering them by ~200kbit make a difference?

            I would try raising the ack bandwidth to 25% on both ack queues first.
