High interrupt load

Morning
Running pfsense on a relatively new dell box with 2 x D-Link DGE-530T Gigabit Ethernet.
Last pid: 15582; load averages: 0.84, 0.88, 0.82 up 0+00:31:07 11:22:14
72 processes: 3 running, 69 sleeping
CPU states: 0.0% user, 0.9% nice, 1.5% system, 43.0% interrupt, 54.5% idle
Mem: 50M Active, 11M Inact, 46M Wired, 25M Buf, 1881M Free
Swap: 4096M Total, 4096M FreeAnyway, top is reporting very high interrupt load on a network which has almost nothing happening on it. Ideas?

Try to disable acpi: http://devwiki.pfsense.org/BootOptions
Also try to disable all hardware in the bios that you don't need to free up ressources, maybe there is some interruptsharing going on.

ok, I entered the /boot/loader.conf to disable acpi and now my firewall 4000km away is not booting :(
