I'm seeing this to. It's happened before to different sites, usually the latest squid version fixes it, but obviously you already have that.  Do a search for bypass certain sites and you should come across the answer, it's been discussed at length.

Thank you for the fast test and answer + hints.

Is there any area/email I have to raise such "issues" in order that the squid package will be improved or is this forum scanned by the responsible?

All the devs are very active participants in the forums.  As far as package developers, most of them watch diligently, though some packages are outdated/dormant/in-op.

Certain websites not loading is an issue with Squid itself or the way the site is written, nothing to do with pfSense/squid pacakge.  If you're really into it, raise the issue in their mailing lists… www.squid-cache.org

            Hi

I raised no the  issue within the SQUID bugzilla

            http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=2342

but somehow it seems to be a problem of the combination between SQUID and PFSENSE?!?
Now I am somehow lost. Does anybody (more capable than I am in network analysis) does see the same problem and is able to suggest the next steps.

            thanks in advance

            Günther

It's working for me right now via Squid, but I'm running pfSense 1.2/FreeBSD 6.3 from a recent build.  Get it here and see if it helps…

OK thank you for the testing … that means there is definitively a difference between 1.2-Release version and the Recent Build 1.2.x you are running now.
(What is the SQUID version you do using?  I assume still the 2.6.18.1 as this is an external package).

I tried now (as before several times) to download the "Recent Build" end selected "Update Firmware" from the Firefox-GUI. The process does start but somehow it does never goes to reboot. Manual reboot (after 10 minutes) does restart with the original built ... strange. I start to feel stupid!

Also i can confirm the problem

                  http://www.squid-cache.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=2342

Collected the data and as fare what i can see it is a http 1.0 / http 1.1 problem (Attach doc's)

An update to this pfsense version did not help. Prolly needs to be updated before squid is installled.

I'm not exactly sure why we're seeing different results.  My Squid 2.6.18_1 was installed before I upgraded to FreeBSD6.3 via the update image on the link I posted above.  You should be able to upgrade just fine via the GUI.  I have to believe the issue with Codegear is isolated to pfsense as I read through the bug post on Squid's site.  Are you using transparent proxy?  We are, perhaps it has to do with that.

I checked both modes and still the same (but with my existing environment).

Coming back to the reply of "Perry"

Also i can confirm the problem

Is the http 1.0 / http 1.1 problem caused by the server or by SQUID or by PFSense
I have to apologize but I am not a network specialist and do use SQUID somehow as "blackbox"

                        regards
