I have recently purchased a new motherbaord for my firewall box.
Am I able to simply swap the hard drive over and have pfsense detect the new hardware and NICs etc?
Or do I have to re-install again? I guess, does pfsense configure hardware when installed or does it detect it every time at bootup?

If you change the NIC's you will get a "NIC missmatch" error.
You would have to reassign the NIC's from the local console.

Other than that it should work without problem.

We do what we must, because we can.
