With PFSense, Windows Vista blocks some internet sites (google…)
-
Dear Friends,
I have the fallowing problem, I do not know if anyone else has the same problem…????
I Am quite sure that window Vista is blocking some internet sites, if it discovers that we are using a non MS firewall.
If I connect a pc with windows XP, we have fill access to internet, and to al sites.
If I change to (connect a pc with ) windows vista , I have some sites blocked (like google, gmail, yahoo….).
The curious part, is that if I take the same PC (laptop) with windows vista installed, to a network of a friend of mine, were they have a MS firewall. I have full access to Internet.
So I think that the gays at MS, ) with windows vista, if the discover that we have a non MS firewall, they start blocking sites, like google, gmail, yahoo, and so on.
Is three a hack, or another why, to make PFSense act as if it were a MS firewall, so that windows vista will be unable to discover that we have a non-MS firewall.

Come back you're on the wrong way, no such "firewall version detection" on any operating system, you probably have a misconfigured dns on your vista box or on the fw, try using static settings.

I have already done that.
All is Automatic.
The Windows Firewall is turned OFF.
Sups. that you are right, so Why Windows XP gets the correct settings, and Vista Does Not?
Sups. tht you are right, why on my freinds network Windows Vista Does gets the correct settings, and with PFsense does not?
Regards.
