Where are the log files kept?
-
I'm having a really hard time figuring out where I can grab the log files out of my pfsense HD. I don't see them in the normal /var/log location, is there somewhere else I should look?
Thanks!

please try to use the search: http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php?action=search
keywords: "store log"( http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,7793.0.html )

I tried searching, apparently my mind and the computer hive think in different ways.
I have to say that if pfSense doesn't store logs to HD that there should be some notification of this on the GUI. I've just essentially wasted a weekend of war games because I didn't want to use a remote log server that could be hacked easier than pfsense.

Did you even read the thread i posted???
I replace syslog by syslog-ng, work great.
i have made a script who send the logs by e-mail, and rotate the log.
the logs are stored on the pfsense hdd, and i think, they could be sent in external hdd or similar.
