Does anyone know of a good network analysis tool?  I am having problems with the connection to my ISP where at certain times throughout the day the connection will slow down and eventually die out.  I am looking for a tool that will ping an external site every so often, so I can see if there is a pattern of when my connection is coming up or going down.  any ideas or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

    Thanks!

You would have to be pingable to use it…

            Awesome!!  :)

Thanks so much for the help guys.  Does anyone have any ideas why a dsl connection would be fluctuating from a status up connection to a status down connection quite frequently?

Chances are that your ISP has some faulty equipment on your circuit.  We had a client with a similar situation and it wasn't until they installed pfSense and were able to demonstrate using the RRD graphs that the line was becoming completely unusable at times and that the line going down had nothing to do with link saturation, that the ISP finally started taking their issue seriously.
