Need Help with MS RDP
-
First off, sorry if this is in the wrong section.
Im new ish to pfsesne
What im trying to do is remote in to diffrent computers in my network, if i remote to mydomain.com it will go to my server, but i want to go to my main desktop via a port ie mydomain.com:1234 but i cant get it to work.
Help Please! :)
Edit:
Okay so i have been trying to get this to work for the past 6 hours and i dont know why but it just wont work… i have been talking to a guy i know who is very good with pfsense and he says its being blocked someware... its really starting to piss me off. -
You need to look at:
-
What differences there are in your NAT and firewall rules
-
What differences there are between the server and the desktop
Can you remote in to the desktop from the LAN? Have you forwarded port 1234 to the RDP port on the desktop (is there also a firewall rule to allow this)?

According to my buddy that knows pfsense, all the nat and firewall rules are correct.
that port is also forwarded correctly
i can rdp to the desktop on the lan just not externally…
Also, i just put a switch in my network. (it didnt work before this before you ask lol) but was just wondering if this is correct
Modem --> wan on pfsense--> lan on pfsense --> modem -- > ethernet --> switch --> server, desktop.

If that diagram is correct, it's a wonder anything works. Do you really have 2 modems in there, one between the pfSense host and the LAN?
-
No its the same modem… the lan and wan connections are pluged into it, if i try anything else other then that nothing works
-
Well, that'll cause you problems (as has been said in many other posts don't do that).
It should be:
Modem –- WAN - pfSense - LAN --- Switch ---> server, desktop

yeah thats how it is now and it works good, i had to set the modem to PPPoE and do the same for pfsense.
