    Hi Jamie,

Unfortunately for you but fortunately for me I have moved to pfSense firewall, you may know it as many watchguard owners are installing it on their watchguard firewalls.

The stability and features are fantastic and the price is even better with one to one support from the developers your company could learn a thing or too.

    Regards

Initial post edited after we received a request from the person at WatchGuard whose contact information was contained within it. Aside from the ***** portion it's identical to what was originally posted.

I wasn't quite so blunt, but I had a similar conversation with a vendor that makes a VERY expensive WAN load balancing appliance that they had sent a customer for eval.  After a head to head value comparison with pfsense against their 5RU behemoth, I advised the customer that pfsense seemed to work perfectly fine in their environment and they needn't blow 5 figures to simply aggregate 2 WAN pipes and firewall their bits.  So I informed the vendor that the customer would be returning the unit.  I got a reply saying that their unit was "purpose built" and had a lot of high end hardware, etc.  I responded that if they'd give me permission to break the cheesy seal, I'd be delighted to open their box up and would likely find a pentium3 class PC motherboard with off the shelf commodity components inside.  Their next response was the RMA number with no further commentary.  :)

            Best,

I use pfsense where there used to be big, high cost, branded firewalls, even on carrier grade lines.
              Never had any issue.
As an example, when you see how Juniper handles NAT and how poor is their GUI, you understand quickly that pfsense is a good choice, for your money….and your health  ;)

That's good, so WatchGuard staff members are tacking our advice and reading this forum - maybe they will pick a few things up, good stuff.  ;)

                  Hi,

Is it possible to install pfsense in a watchguard system ?

I have 1 one here that keep my door open. If I can use it with pfsense i will be glad to test it.
