My current gateway is linux based, and works fine.  It also runs a lot of services, including squid (in transparent proxy mode.)  I'd kind of like to replace its firewall/gateway functionality with a pfsense box, but I don't want to lose the transparent proxy feature.  So, I noticed that with a HD install, I can have squid in transparent proxy mode.  This is cool, except my server has a ton of disk space (and is a relatively powerful box.)  So, I am wondering, can I use the upstream proxy feature to tell the pfsense squid to query the squid server on my multipurposed Linux server?  Or is the upstream feature not the right one, but there is something else I can tweak?  Thanks!
