I gave Centipede Networks a call about 3 times over the last couple months and they said that there is PFsense per-incident support in the works.  They said that it would be hourly.  Is there any news on this?

I have $50 US to spend.

We have almost completed all of the needed pieces for this.  Should be very soon.

We won't be offering individual incidents though, there is a minimum purchase of hours. We can't do anything for you for $50, sorry.

OK.  It will at least be less than $350.00 right?

So what is the incentive for per-incident if yearly support is 350.00?

                Thank you for your responses.

Do any of the support staff have a recommendation for training in PFsense / FreeBSD?

This book makes for good reading on FreeBSD, as does the FreeBSD handbook.

There will be no single incident support because there isn't any way to fairly price "incidents". Some would take 10 minutes, some would take 5 hours (we've seen some really, really, REALLY screwed up configurations that take hours to clean up). We've found the same on our current per-install support, which is why we're changing our model. More on this once it's available.

There is a wealth of information on this site and some of our other sites, the best way to find out about something specifically at this point is to type it into google and append site:pfsense.org

As for specific training, unfortunately we weren't able to record our session at BSDCan. The slides are available but are of minimal value without the accompanying discussion. My pfSense book will hopefully be done in the next couple months, which will be the best resource available but doesn't help immediately.

Is there any way to be put on a list for when support is available?  I can see myself with 30-50 sites running pfsense before too long… I have a solid Linux and network background... just not strong in pfsense, or bsd.  I don't mind paying for the support as time is valuable to me.  Message me privately if you want my contact details.

aray: send a blank email to announce-subscribe@pfsense.com to get on our announcements mailing list, we'll notify folks there when it's available for purchase.

Of course you can also purchase per-install support right now, but for those with numerous installs the pricing on the new model may be much lower, depending on the level of assistance you require.
