IBM 340MB Microdrive

Would this be enough to do a full install from cd? I ask becauase the requirments say 1g, but my install currently only uses 110mb. Thanks
-
It will work if you blow away the swap partition manually and you might need to manually configure the partitionsizes. I have done this with 256 mb cfcards in the past. It's not supported of course ;)

If you don't use swap and don't install any packages that should be adequate.

In the end i got a 512mb ibm microdrive, are they known to work with pfsense? I have a ide to cf adapter.

If you search the forum you will find some threads with people having issues with microdrives though it is working for others. Seems to depend on the drive parameters and maybe the ide-cf adaptor. Give it a try, this is the only way to find out for sure.

I have read the forums and searched about microdrives, i just have not found anyone using this particular microdrive, i did think it would work because ibm did make the original microdrive. I have not tried it yet.

So let us know ;)

Hi there,
I have an 8Gb Seagate microdrive that I wish to use in my PC based router.
1.2.1 boots and sees the drive and 99 will format and install to the drive but when I reboot it just sits there no boot loader nothing.I have read ALL the microdrive posts and the general consensus is don't bother with Seagates use Hitachi instead is that still the case? Although my problem looks boot block related.
I tried 1.2 release but that just hangs during boot when it sees the drive going on about LBA this and zombie that.
Cheers
