    Remove old packages from GUI ?

      Hi!
      I had a ntop and snort packages..
      i have exporte configuration as XML.., and then installed new pfsense 1.2
      other packages was succesfully instaled (like arping, squid and so on), but snort and ntop doesn't exists anymore..

      so can i somhow "force" a instaliration of ntop and snort ?

      OR

      how can I remove these two options from my menu in pfsense web gui…

        The easiest way to get rid of the old package menus from the GUI is to download the config, and edit the xml. Look for the items under installedpackages and delete them. Save the config and restore it to the firewall. Keep a backup config and be careful, it's possible to trash the firewall if you screw up.

          hmm i understand.., i didn't look at the content of xml file, but it think that packages should be on more placese…., i will take a lok..

          but if it is possible, i need ntop and snort.. why i can't install them at my responsibility... ?

              ok thanks..

              btw, i have removed ntop and snort..
              1. backup xml
              copy backup xml to new xml
              open new xml…., search ntop, snort.., remove menu items, and all other items with this names..
              restore new xml

              everythink is ok now..

              i will se, if i will manualy install ntop..., thank you...
