        Why would you want to do that?
        pfSense is basically FreeBSD with a nice gui. (and a bit more)

        So you can do about what you can do under FreeBSD.

            Yes its possible to install python on pfSense, although, squid caches youtube videos pretty well already when properly configured.  Considering the purpose of a redirector (aka. url rewriter) and how it works, is to simply modify (or not modify) a URL that's then passed onto squid, I question the effectiveness of this utility.

                Youtube Cache has come a long way. Now its a squid url rewriter plugin instead of redirector. It supports 10 video portals now. Check http://cachevideos.com/ for details.
