After installing either version of Squid, I kept getting this error; /pkg_mgr_install.php: The command '/usr/local/sbin/squid -k shutdown' returned exit code '1', the output was '/libexec/ld-elf.so.1: Shared object "libcrypt.so.4" not found, required by "squid"'

As a work around I logged into PFSense through the shell and

      #cd /lib
      #ln -s libcrypt.so.5 libcrypt.so.4

      then

      #squid -z
      #/usr/local/etc/rc.d/squid.sh start

and everything worked great. BTW this is with "pfSense-2.0-ALPHA-ALPHA-20091016-0906.iso"

I am amazed at how well eveything is working considering this is Alpha. Keep up the great work.

      Thank you,
      ProBSD
