Alix 2d3 boot failure
-
Used physdiskwrite to copy the 1.2.1 img file to a 1GB Lexar Professional CF card. Installed in Alix 2d3 board, wired console port to USB serial port and verified BIOS access via serial port. When I try to boot, I see garbled console output that reminds me of mismatched serial port settings:

Thoughts?

Definitely looks like mismatched serial port settings to me. What settings are you using? The pfsense embedded images should use 9600/8N1. The default ALIX BIOS setting is for 38400/8N1, however.

As ktims said.
Before you can ping 192.168.1.1 you need to assign the interfaces on the console.
-
Ya, that did the trick. Just had to switch speeds on the terminal emulator and all is well.
Thanks!!

If you want to, you can change the BIOS to match by pressing 's' during the memory test.
