If you dont know how to work with the developement iso then dont work with it.
There is a reason why it's called pfSense-Developers-1.2.2.isoIf you are interested in getting started with pfSense this might be the right place for you:

The developper iso is "to produce an environment where pfSense images can be built"
as i was also wondering how to use Developper iso, and i was looking for some information about it : i did not find anything in the tutorials (http://doc.pfsense.org/index.php/Tutorials) but here http://devwiki.pfsense.org/DevelopersBootStrapAndDevIso it explains and answers our question … -

But i wondering "if i use Developper iso to setup an environment then i can rebuild pfSense kernel with my custom", i could or couldn't do that? Because, when i do follow http://devwiki.pfsense.org/DevelopersBootStrapAndDevIso, it allway check and update sources from http://gitweb.pfsense.org and others place. -
Do you actually want to develop on pfSense or do you only want to run the latest builds?
The latter can be found precompiled on the snapshot server as full images or updates.Wanting to develop but not knowing how to use the available tools sounds a bit, ehm, spooky…

you are right, very often i fell this sensation!
I always like to try things by myself, so when i see a "Developper iso" i can not resist and i want to try it, but sometimes it is a waste of time : for me (but it is my choice) and for others (and that is the problem).@tanhosy
the wiki page says "Periodically you will need to sync the checked out git trees"
may be if you don't do it … then i would say that you can work as you want with the source (a private fork?). -
Thanks, i've understood
