Mini-ITX - Commell LV-679
-
I have recently purchased this board and after initially testing it seems to work fine, although its a very pricey board, I managed to get a used one for peanuts.
I contacted Commell to find out what CPU the latest BIOS can support, they informed me that it can take up to T8300 (core2duo, 2.4Ghz, 3MB L2 cache, 45nm@800mhz bus speed, 35watts).
I have also read elsewhere that it can also possibly take a T9500 (2.6 w/6MB L2 cache) but I dont have any T9500's laying around.
What I like about this board is that as well being in mini itx form factor is also comes with 2 built in mini-pci slots and has 2 x Intel 82573L Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The spec sheet states it can handle up to 3GB ram, but further reading I realise this is due to windows 32bit limitation on the OS and not because of the board itself, I currently have 2gb but will test it with an additional 2gb ram module, it should be fine.
Tested on a snapshot from january on pfsense 1.2.3, cant remember which one.
Thought Id post and let the community know as I searched the forum here before purchasing and couldnt find anything posted on it.

It feels like I've been searching for this exact board for years, but I can never find it. Yes, you got a good (and rare) choice for pfSense.
If you can source any more, PM me. :)
