      Hello,

      I am attempting to use NUT 2.2.2 with a APC Back-UPS NS 600 connected via USB to pfSense 1.2.2.  I've set the model to the "APC Back-UPS USB", but I cannot get the service to start properly.  If I try to start the service manually, I get the following:

      $ /usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut.sh start
      starting newhidups
      Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.2.2
      newhidups failed to start

      This in turn generates the following in the system.log file:

      Mar 27 16:45:13 pfsense php: nut: Starting service
      Mar 27 16:45:13 pfsense php: nut: Service failed to start: check configuration

      Any thoughts?

        There is plenty of posts on this…you have to change newhidups to usbhid-ups for it to work.

          Ah, sorry, I neglected to mention in my first post that when I set it to usbhid-ups it also does not start:

          $ /usr/local/etc/rc.d/nut.sh start
          starting usbhid-ups
          Network UPS Tools: 0.29 USB communication driver - core 0.33 (2.2.2)

          Network UPS Tools - UPS driver controller 2.2.2
          usbhid-ups failed to start

          At least, the change is supposed to made in the nut.xml file such as the following, right?

           <option><name>APC Back-UPS USB</name>
          	<value>usbhid-ups00</value></option>
