Connecting via 802.1x…
-
Hello, hopefully somebody can answer at least a part of my problem. Here's the situation. I need to connect my pfSense box to a wired network which requires 802.1x authorization, than network enables me Internet access. Then, i would connect few computers to my pfSense box, and they should all be able to access the Internet, and see each other in a LAN. So basically, is it posibble to connect to a WAN which requires 802.1x auth, how? Also, I have 5 NIC's in my pfSense box. How do i make DHCP server, to give IP to any computer which connects to ANY of those NIC's? Basically so it acts like a network switch with DHCP.
I attach a pic to get a better understanding of the situation :)
Any advice.
Cheers!
ps
This is my first time working with pfSense.

The necessary software is included (wpa_supplicant, I think, the driver should be there..), but I don't think there's any UI for this. You'll have to hack it in yourself. First create a wpa_supplicant.conf file for your network and test it on your network manually in the pfSense console. Once you've got that working, put it somewhere where it won't get overwritten. Then add the command to start wpa_supplicant as a shellcmd in the xml config file (search the forum) and it should come up automagically.
