is the local dns working?
(dnsmasq) -
is the local dns working?
(dnsmasq)yes .. (dnsmasq) local dns running well, even when we HigHT setting priorities at the beginning of the dns settings Shaper traffic, the performance to access the internet to become more aggressive. Of course this relates to setting the general traffic in the Shaper.

i've been using a snapshot from march 17t…i finally got it working perfectly, even have squid working in shaping thanks to a very helpful post http://forum.pfsense.org/index.php/topic,14436.0.html
and these changes to /boot/loader.conf
#kern.ipc.nmbclusters="0"
kern.ipc.nmbclusters="32768"
kern.maxfiles="65536"
kern.maxfilesperproc="32768"
net.inet.ip.portrange.last="65535"i guess it wouldn't be too hard to revert back to my old install if something went wrong.

Truly amazing performance pfsense april 12 update 2009 .. cpu performance more efficient and lightweight than ever before.
Indeed rightly pfsense what our users have to say many thanks to the team pfsense.
Multi Wan running well once. normal running load balancing, wirelless ok. VPN normal.
Once again I strongly recommend the use pfsense on your company.Regard.

I'll take the hit….and hope I don't get flamed too hard.
How soon on the 1.23 release? I need to deploy a couple ALIX boards in the field and since a remote upgrade of the embedded build is not an option, I'd like it to be fully baked.
-
A case, which I never do is upgrade from version 1.2.2 to 1.2.3 on 12 april 2009, in general, not much change the system.
There are only a few changes in its package. because the system must update the package again and again .. need settings -
In general update 16 april 2009 almost no difference with the update 13 april 2009.
But I kept update .. 16 april response more aggressive than before.
Package is installed before it can run as normal. -
Just upgraded from the Apr 7th build and wow! The WebGUI is a lot faster as well as my net speed. Great job Devs!
-
I have to second that.
HTTPS access via internet is much better and OPENVPN config pages loads much faster.
Ping times over VPN have also been improved going from double digit MS response times to single digit majority response times.
Thank you again.

Update pfsense 18 april 2009 - 0925 performance the better, Compared with the previous date.
Performance of the cpu the more aggressive and efficient, Filter reload faster and more aggressive, VPN normal, dhcp normal, daskboard normal, Multi Wan the good performance. Traffic sharper the reponsif. Until this stage in my personal value to pfsense = 99.5. if the best standards = 100 -
Load Balance is excellent. Just when we update from previous versions.
Reload load balance will take approximately 40 minutes. Then run the normal and very aggressive.Gladizxx - INA

Very extraordinary Update pfsense on 20 april 2009 - 1033.
There was a significant increase in performance compared with the previous update.
Multi wan normal, dhcp, dns, VPN, pppoe, wirelless all running normally.
Reload filter is very aggressive. I give the value of 99.7 if the best standard = 100.
I strongly recommend the use Pfsense your company. And do not forget Pfsense grateful to the Team has provided many contributions to the success of this project.regard.

Although the filters do not reload as quickly as upadate before.
The occurrence of delay, I think because the system changes aimed at increasing response and agrsifitas's performance.
However, do not affect the performance in general are efisient.
Thus in Update 23 april 2009 - 0918 I feel more stable performance.regard

Although the filter is a bit reload takes time. But this does not disrupt the performance in general.
But we will feel as though we are not running settings, such as sharper traffic, load balance, and so forth.
Thus I felt the updated version 24 april 2009 1047 general this system is more stable, stable, load balance, traffic Shaper, multi wan also more stable.
does not believe? …...Please try it out .. :) -

" If there PFsense". Why must use the other?
-
The whole point of open source are options. PfSense is one option. IPCop is another option and etc.
Being the way we are we tend to stick to the ones we like. As you may have noticed I've used IPCop for years and last year switched to PfSense as it is a more "mature" product for me to use. IPCop still works but I outgrew it when I started to learn more about enterprise routers.
PfSense fits in that category.

" Make efficient with use "Pfsense" " :)

If you have an internet problem, the solution is in the PFSENSE :)
-
Solutions to your network problems, have in Pfsense. ;D

gladizxx , is it that your are simply trying to increase your post counts on the forum or something like that coz everone of us here really loves pfsense but that doesnt mean u say the same thing a hundred times, rather waste your energy on testing and helping others and bug fixing.
-
I have an idea…you can post these comments in the Smoothwall and Vyatta forums.
MWHa ha ha ha ha ha ha ahhhhh, ok where's the evil laugh icon, huh? huh?

In This Post …..
"" I'm just trying to let you know that do not be afraid to do the latest update on the pfsense although there is now a pfsense has been used to doing business on the company or other organization. It is not always in sync is always update to the settings that have been done in the previous pfsense. However, if you find a problem, of course, that will add to the experience and knowledge.""""

There is a difference in the update 20090527-1245….. ;D :) ;D
-
Do not worry about Dasboard load balance.
on the update 20090530-2140 Dasboard is running normally. ;D -
At first I pfsense system upgrade from pfsense system FreeBSD 7.1 to 7.2, in general, do not have constraints, but if there be a little sharper constraints on the traffic, namely the delay in the connection game. Whereas in the other network that uses the 7.1 setting pfsense traffic sharper the same did not experience any problems, aka running very excellent. But after I update with the latest updater (last pfsense system 7.2), everything went normal, although with the same settings before. effisient performance even more than before. so conclusion, I think, please upgrade your Pfsense system from 7.1 to Pfsense system FreeBSD 7.2.
Don't Worry Be Happy…... :)

pfSense-Full-Update-1.2.3-20090613-0944.tgz
pfSense-Full-Update-1.2.3-20090614-0015.tgzThis was likely due to a bug that wasn't allowing the state table to clear out normally. Should be fixed in the most current snapshots.

bug that wasn't allowing the state table to clear out normally
You are right. Version 20090614-0015. Tried every (and many more) :
net.inet.tcp.hostcache.expire=1
net.inet.tcp.keepidle=30000
net.inet.tcp.keepintvl=5000
net.inet.tcp.finwait2_timeout=15000
net.inet.tcp.fast_finwait2_recycle=1
kern.ipc.somaxconn=32768
net.inet.icmp.icmplim=3000
kern.ipc.maxsockets=300000
net.inet.tcp.delayed_ack=1
net.inet.tcp.maxtcptw=196607Nothing solves the problem : State table growing inevitably !
I would not like to kill more or less running system.
How do we know that the problem is solved ?"State Timeout in seconds" in Advanced options for firewall rules also does no effect !

After I upgraded to version 1.2.3-20090614-0015, all with normal pfsense running back, then I upgrade to the latest version 20090616–0034 Pfsense running very wonderfull, internet connection the more aggressive, Load Balance running optimally, as if the entire resource that have empowered perfectly. While the IP Sec're setting me back, because of internal reasons. From there I use my old Pfsense, once I find new problems, while the rest are internal constraints on me. :)
-
It seems PFsense, near the start …. stable release .... :D
