1.2.2 - Shuttle X27D - ACPI Errors - Advise

Hi,

First all a big thank you to all who make pFsense possible!!
I'm setting my first steps with pFsense, so please bear with me :-)

running 1.2.2
installed to USB stick
hardware: Shuttle X27D Atom box http://au.shuttle.com/product_detail_spec.jsp?PI=1209
Atom 330 PCU
chipset: Intel 945GC + ICH7

I started off running the livecd.
These are the errors I see passing by:


    Nov 24 23:02:56 	kernel: ACPI Error (psparse-0626): Method parse/execution failed [\_TZ_.THRM._TMP] (Node 0xc523b9a0), AE_NOT_FOUND
    Nov 24 23:03:06 	kernel: ACPI Error (psargs-0459): [\_SB_.PCI0.SBUS.SRDB] Namespace lookup failure, AE_NOT_FOUND

I did some searching and found a couple of pointers to changing sysctl.conf:

hw.acpi.thermal.polling-rate=0

    # sysctl kern.timecounter.choice
    kern.timecounter.choice: TSC(-100) ACPI-fast(1000) i8254(0) dummy(-1000000)
    #  sysctl -w kern.timecounter.hardware=i8254
    kern.timecounter.hardware: ACPI-fast -> i8254

When I try to boot without ACPI the system gets a kernel panic
Booting in SAFE mode works, and there are no error messages

Please advise how to correct system and get rid of these ACPI error messages.

I would try the latest snapshot for better hardware support.

Disable ACPI in bios if possible.

A bios update might also help.

There seems to be no way to disable ACPI in the bios.
Also there is no BIOS update… :-)

Perhaps a little more detail:

It's a very long post, so for conveniency here's a snippet:

I own the X27D, in fact I am typing this from it.
It works reasonably well with FreeBSD (I am using  7.2/i386). The
ethernet card (100Mbit), USB , SATA, audio, Xorg all work fine. You will
only need this in sysctl.conf:

hw.acpi.thermal.polling-rate=0

That's why I tried this setting, but it seems to have no effect onmy system.
Am I doing something wrong?
Can I check the functioning of this line?

You say you are running pfSense 1.2.2 which is based on FreeBSD 6.x. The note about FreeBSD on the shottle system referred to FreeBSD 7.2. pfSense 1.2.3 snapshot builds are based on FreeBSD 7.2. I'll give it a try, downloading as I type.
Is there any 'easy' way to transfer this iso to a usb stick?
I've been looking for that before but did not find a clean solution.
