ok I will check on Intel nic. but have you had Realtek RTL8111C to work? would be good to know when I will order my things as quickly as possible. and Realtek RTL8111C not working, then I choose Intel or via if anyone has succeeded with this card? or what is the best choice?

I bought me exactly one IM-945GSE-A and I hope that this will work well. I have to agree with you that this is probably the best motherboard for pfsense today.

            Thank you very much cheesyboofs

This is definitely a nice option, it's too bad the availability seems to be really poor. The price is a bit high too, but if I could've got this instead of the Intel I would've. Very nice board, and seems to be relatively unique with good NICs (and more than one).

I'm also enjoying this board, a LOT. if you are in the US Logic Supply has it, in stock. it's a bit more change but you know the intel nic's are good stuff!

It's too bad they stopped making that board.  For the price, it couldn't be beat.

                        @ forum,

Did you get pfSense running (well) on the Realtek 8111C NICs? I've been looking at that exact same setup, it's pretty nice. However, I'm not into buying a dedicated machine that won't work for the intended purpose … if you know what I mean ...  ;)

I am running on a Via VB8001 with their new Nano processor. It draws the same as an atom under idle, and has built in encryption acceleration for VPN. It supports PCE-E so I have a dual port Intel card in there. Runs really smooth, and draws less than 40 watts under 'standard' usage.
