      Hi there,

I'm using pfsense for more than one year now on ALIX and want to move my current system to another (newer and larger) microdrive. Has somebody done this before, because I can't get it done.

Reasons for not reinstalling is that I don't want to lose my history build up by:

      • RDD graphs
      • BandwithD
      • SquidLight

Tried Ghost on Windows, but it does not recognize the filesystem.

      Regards,
      Joost.

Just to be sure anybody will point me to the sticky post "Transfer image from one CF to another". I can't use dd because the new microdrive is larger and I don't want to sacrifice the additional space.

        Regards,
        Joost.

Tried "Acronis True Image" but it didn't recognize the pfsense partition on the microdrive.

Anybody knows how to do this without imaging and just adding the history of RDD graphs, BandwithD and Squid back onto a new install?

            Regards,
            Joost.

Take a look at growfs, a standard FreeBSD tool.  You'll need to stick the Microdrive in another FreeBSD box and do it all there.  The man page is here.

The systems I have are Linux and Windows based, any tools on those systems I can use to do the job? growfs does not live on Linux systems, I tried.

                Regards,
                Joost.

                  Yup.

Get a copy of VMWare or another virtual machine system that supports FreeBSD.  VMWare has a free trial.

Then, install FreeBSD 7.1 inside that virtual machine.
