Deleting and cleaning up stubbon packages? (Squid-related)
-
Hi all,
I've been using pfSense for a while, but not usually digging too far beyond the GUI.
I had an old version of Squidguard installed some time back, and while it uninstalled, there is still a menu item for it in the GUI. Under Services, it still shows "Proxy Content". I tried re- and uninstalling the current version of Squidguard, but it only adds and removes the current item. ("Proxy Filter" instead, I believe)I would also like to remove Squid itself, but the package deletion appears to hang, though no errors are presented. If there is a console method to do the same, that might give me more information, or at least more brute-force options. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
Tim -
Ups.. This is bug after change menu name. Near time fix this and post here.

Great, thanks.
On the topic of Squid itself, my /usr/local/pkg/squid.xml is currently zero bytes in size. I'm wondering if that might be part of my uninstall issue.

This is a Squid package issue - ot a filter. To fix - you should reinstall Squid package

Yes, but install seemed to hang too. I will try it again though, thanks.
